Chairholder

Anne Bourbonnais, RN, PhD, is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Nursing of the Université de Montréal and a researcher at the Research Centre of the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal. She is the Chairholder of the Research Chair in Nursing Care for Older People and their Families since June 2015. Since June 2020, she concurrently holds the Canada Research Chair in Care for Older People. She is also a member of the Quebec Network for Research on Aging (RQRV) and the Réseau québécois de recherche en soins palliatifs et de fin de vie (RQSPAL).
With a clinical experience as a registered nurse and a keen interest in the care of older people, she has chosen to keep on contributing to the quality of life of older people by developing knowledge through research. Dr. Bourbonnais’s expertise focuses on aging and the care of older people in all types of healthcare settings. She is particularly interested in older people living with a major neurocognitive disorder (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease), as well as their family caregivers and formal caregivers.
