Why donate
We are living longer than ever before. Scientific advances that extend life expectancy are increasing the number of older adults living with chronic or degenerative diseases. Given this unprecedented context in history and the complex care needed by this population, health professionals require new knowledge to deliver optimal care. Through its mission, the Chair focuses on an critical area of research aimed at providing quality care to these vulnerable older adults who deserves appropriate care and that enhance their quality of life.
The Chair is a philanthropic research chair, which means that it was constituted and is able to accomplish its mission thanks to donations.
It needs your financial sponsorship in order to:
- support research and knowledge transfer activities;
- support the training of future generations through scholarship awards.

How to donate
The Chair has two separate funds to which you can donate: an endowment fund and a subscription fund. When making your donation, please specify which fund you wish to contribute to. To help you decide, here is a description of their characteristics:
The Endowment Fund
The initial amount is invested in accordance with the policies of the Université de Montréal. Only the interest generated is used to fund the Chair’s activities. The donation itself is never spent; it continues to generate interest year after year. Your donation thus becomes a source of long-term support.
The Subscription Fund
The amount donated is immediately available to fund the Chair’s activities upon receipt. This type of donation has an immediate impact until the funds are fully depleted.
Make a donation online
To make an online donation, simply fill out the donation form of the Faculty of Nursing of the Université de Montréal.
To make a donation to the Chair, please select the area to support “Faculty of Nursing”, then one of the two funds under” Research Chair in Nursing Care for Older People and their Families”, namely:
“Research Chair in Nursing Care for Older People and their Families (endowment)”
Or
“Research Chair in Nursing Care for Older People and their Families (subscription)”
