On June 18, 2025, a gathering was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Chair in Nursing Care for the Older People and their Families. Many people attended, including those who contributed to the work of the Chair with its chairholders, Louise Lévesque (1998-2000), Francine Ducharme (2000-2015) and Anne Bourbonnais (2015- ), as well as from the Université de Montréal and the Research Centre of the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal.

The event featured speeches thanking the donors who, through their unwavering commitment and great generosity, have contributed to the creation of the Chair, its continued existence, and support for graduate study trainees in nursing working with older people and their family care partners. The history and achievements of the Chair over the years were highlighted, including its contributions to students, as well as its promising future.

As the first nursing research chair in Canada, the Chair in Nursing Care for Older People and their Families was a pioneer 25 years ago. Today, the Chair continues to look ahead and pursues its mission to innovate in order to provide better care for the older people and their family care partners, since we are all concerned.
