On January 16, 2019, the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) published the reportImproving the Quality of Life and Care of Persons Living with Dementia and their Caregivers: CAHS Assessment of Dementia Care in Canada.

The experts panel who conducted the assessment noted that improvements could be made at all stages of the disease and identified seven priorities to consider in the future development of a national dementia strategy.
